Denver: the "Mile High Line" — 20,000 homes along new transit and bike corridors
United StatesNorth AmericaOn the globe
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston unveiled a corridor plan linking neighbourhoods with transit and bike infrastructure while upzoning to add 20,000 homes along the routes — growth deliberately concentrated where the infrastructure goes. Ann Arbor and Madison approved sizeable transit-node affordable developments the same week.
"Infrastructure first, density follows the line" is the model behind UK proposals for development corridors along the Elizabeth Line/East West Rail — here done by mayoral plan rather than national legislation.
