Sweden's Moderates propose a five-year citizenship "fast track" for the well-integrated
SwedenNorthern EuropeOn the globe
Migration Minister Johan Forssell (Moderaterna) proposed keeping Sweden's newly-tightened eight-year residence requirement for citizenship while creating a second, faster five-year track for applicants judged exceptionally well integrated — criteria still undefined, to be developed with the security service.
A genuinely distinctive structural idea — raise the floor, then reward those who clear it early — different from the UK's current debate, which mostly lengthens qualifying periods in one direction only.
