South Korea targets 230,000 new homes around Seoul — cuts the site-to-shovel timeline from 68 to 37 months

Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced a plan to supply more than 230,000 additional homes in the Seoul metropolitan area, about 120,000 by 2030, with the headline reform procedural: cutting the time from site selection to construction start from 68 months to 37 by streamlining permits, land compensation and relocation. Follows last week's Seoul supplementary budget — that was the demand-side response; this is the national supply-side one.
UK housing debate is dominated by numbers of homes and the green belt; comparatively little of it sets measurable targets for process duration. Korea treats administrative delay itself as the binding constraint and sets a hard numerical target for reducing it.
